Lachlan Fitzroy

Beauty Training Specialist & Industry Educator

I started working in beauty education back in 2017, right after spending six years as a salon trainer in Brisbane. What began as weekend workshops turned into a full curriculum when I realised how many practitioners were struggling with techniques that should have been covered in their initial training.

Most of my courses focus on advanced colour theory, precision application methods, and client consultation frameworks. I teach what actually works in real appointments, not just what looks good in theory. My students range from recent graduates to salon owners looking to upskill their teams.

Outside of structured courses, I write practical guides and troubleshooting resources for common technical challenges. If you've ever dealt with uneven pigment absorption or unexpected tonal shifts, you know these problems need specific solutions, not vague advice.

What I Actually Teach

These are the core areas where I spend most of my teaching time. Each one addresses specific technical gaps that come up repeatedly in the industry.

Advanced colour correction techniques

Colour Correction Methods

Breaking down how to neutralise unwanted tones, work with damaged hair, and predict outcomes based on starting levels. This covers both corrective work and preventative strategies.

Precision application training

Application Precision

Teaching sectioning systems, product placement accuracy, and timing sequences that reduce errors. Small adjustments here make a significant difference in consistency and client satisfaction.

Client consultation frameworks

Consultation Structures

How to ask the right questions, manage expectations, and document client history properly. This reduces miscommunication and helps you deliver what clients actually want.

Product chemistry understanding

Product Chemistry Basics

Understanding how formulations interact with hair structure, why certain combinations cause problems, and how to read ingredient lists for compatibility. This knowledge prevents expensive mistakes.

Troubleshooting common issues

Technical Troubleshooting

Diagnosing what went wrong and how to fix it without causing further damage. Covers patchy results, unexpected fading, and texture issues that appear during or after service.

Salon workflow optimisation

Workflow Efficiency

Organising your station, timing multiple clients, and reducing wasted movement during services. These adjustments free up time without rushing through appointments.

Experience Overview

Numbers That Reflect Real Work

I've been teaching beauty professionals since 2017, running both in-person workshops and detailed online courses. Most of my students are already working in salons and need specific skills to handle more complex client requests.

The focus is always on practical application. Theory matters, but only when it translates into better results during actual appointments. That's why my courses emphasise hands-on problem solving over abstract concepts.

These figures represent the scope of my teaching work, not marketing claims. They're here to give you context about what I've built over the past several years.
